Jonathan Fox Bassett initially directed factual programmes like Trans World Sport before he sought to move into drama. Having garnered critical acclaim for his 2002 short film While I Can Dream, he was soon recruited to direct for shows like 20 Things To Do Before You're 30, Teachers, Dogtown and Waterloo Road. In 2008, Bassett made two installments of the Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood. His credits during the 2010s included Casualty, Eve, Hollyoaks and The Demon Headmaster, while the Twenties saw him direct the family musical AbracadOpera!.
