Biography

Keith Temple was a fan of Doctor Who while growing up in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear, during the Seventies. His early writing career was spent working on documentaries, but he moved into television drama during the mid-Nineties as an assistant script editor on Heartbeat. Temple subsequently wrote for the show, as well as for programmes such as Casualty, EastEnders and Family Affairs. After the turn of the century, his credits included Crossroads, Byker Grove and Doc Martin. A connection to Doctor Who executive producer Russell T Davies came via Temple's partner, Morag Bain, who had produced episodes of Children's Ward written by Davies. Temple was invited to develop Planet Of The Ood, a 2008 adventure for David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor. He also wrote short stories for the 2009 and 2010 editions of the Doctor Who Storybook from Panini Publishing, as well as a comic strip for the Doctor Who website. Temple's first novel, the mystery-comedy It's Behind You, was released in 2010. In 2021, he scripted the horror movie Wyvern Hill, in which he also had an on-screen role. Temple novelised Planet Of The Ood for Target Books in 2023.
