Mark Everest began his career making commercial films and promotional material. He then moved into factual programmes, serving as a writer-director on shows like Seven Wonders Of The Industrial World, Space Race and Lost Cities Of The Ancients. Everest was given the opportunity to transition into drama with Adrift, a 2008 episode of the Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood. He was soon working steadily on the likes of Primeval, Law & Order: UK, Wizards Vs Aliens and The Level. Everest also occasionally returned to documentaries, such as the dinosaur profile The Real T Rex.
