Biography

Mat King was born in Adelaide, Australia. He began his television career during the Nineties, and started working as a second unit director around the turn of the century; at about the same time, he made several short films. King became a fully-fledged television director on the children's series The Fairies in 2005. He moved to the United Kingdom, where he made fifteen episodes of MI High alongside work on shows like Spirit Warriors, Law & Order: UK and Holby City. King directed a single Doctor Who story, 2013's Journey To The Centre Of The TARDIS, which featured Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor. Subsequent credits during the 2010s included The Wrong Girl, Wentworth, Pine Gap and My Life Is Murder. The Twenties saw King direct for programmes such as How To Stay Married.
