Nick Frost was born in East London. In the wake of his parents' bankruptcy and their subsequent health issues, Frost left school at the age of sixteen to support his family by working at a shipping company. After spending two years at a kibbutz in Israel, he returned to England to try his hand at stand-up comedy, with little success. Instead, Frost found himself toiling as a waiter, which brought him into contact with Simon Pegg, the boyfriend of one of his co-workers. Recognising that they shared a common sense of humour, Frost and Pegg became friends and flatmates. When Pegg won a starring role in the 1998 sketch show Big Train, he secured walk-on parts for Frost. Pegg's next project was the sitcom Spaced, which he co-created with Jessica Stevenson, and Frost joined the cast.

As the twenty-first century dawned, Frost's career was sufficiently well-established that he began to be cast independently of Pegg. His regular appearances included the sketch show Man Stroke Woman and the science-fiction comedy Hyperdrive, and he took guest roles in programmes like Twisted Tales and Green Wing. But Pegg and Frost still maintained their association, which led to Frost's movie debut in the 2004 cult classic Shaun Of The Dead. He could also be seen in films such as Kinky Boots, Grindhouse and The Boat That Rocked, plus another collaboration with Pegg in the form of Hot Fuzz. Frost wedded Christina, a production executive, in 2008; their son Mac was born in 2011, although the marriage would end in a 2016 divorce.

Frost's television work during the early 2010s included a starring role in Mr Sloane, on which he was also an executive producer. Amongst his appearances on the silver screen were the science-fiction comedy Attack The Block starring the future Thirteenth Doctor, Jodie Whittaker, as well as fantasy film Snow White And The Huntsman and romantic comedy Cuban Fury. With Pegg, he both co-wrote and co-starred in Paul, before he was an actor and executive producer on The World's End. The pair also collaborated to voice lookalike policemen Thomson and Thompson in Steven Spielberg's animated The Adventures Of Tintin. In 2014, Frost tackled a Doctor Who role for which he seemed destined from the moment his parents chose his name. As none other than Santa Claus, he first appeared in a teaser at the end of season finale Death In Heaven, which led to a greater involvement in that year's holiday special, Last Christmas.

Frost's memoir, Truths, Half Truths & Little White Lies, was published in 2015. Soon thereafter, he took prominent roles in programmes such as Sick Note and Into The Badlands, while appearing in movies like Fighting With My Family and Horrible Histories: The Movie -- Rotten Romans. Further reunions with Pegg came in Slaughterhouse Rulez and the short-lived series Truth Seekers, which they co-created with James Serafinowicz and Nat Saunders. Frost's other television projects during the Twenties included Why Women Kill and The Nevers.
