Biography

Sallie Aprahamian began her professional career as a theatre director, with an emphasis on new plays. She made a move into television in the late Eighties, initially as a script editor on EastEnders, and then as a director on another soap opera, Eldorado, for Doctor Who's original producer, Verity Lambert. Aprahamian soon returned to EastEnders as a director, while other work during the Nineties included episodes of Casualty, This Life and The Lakes. Amongst her credits after the turn of the century were The Sins, Teachers and The Bill. Aprahamian's first movie was 2008's Broken Lines with Paul Bettany. During the 2010s, she directed for programmes like Wolfblood, The Dumping Ground, The Worst Witch and Hetty Feather. Aprahamian was then recruited for the 2018 season of Doctor Who. She handled Arachnids In The UK and The Witchfinders, starring Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor. Subsequent projects included Poldark, COBRA, Fate: The Winx Saga and Domina.
