Biography

Born in the Tameside area of Greater Manchester, Millie Gibson acquired a distinctive scar through her left eyebrow when she fell down a set of stairs while she was still a baby. As a child, she became interested in acting and trained at the Oldham Theatre and Music Workshop. Noticed by a talent agency, Gibson soon earned a recurring role in the children's series Jamie Johnson starting in 2017; she could also be seen in an episode of Love, Lies And Records that year. She co-starred in Butterfly during 2018, but it was in 2019 that she won the part that would ignite her career. Having joined the cast of Coronation Street for just five episodes, Gibson was then brought back as a series regular in 2020, leading to an acclaimed stint which would last for more than two years. Just a few months after her departure from the soap opera in mid-2022, it was announced that she would be joining the cast of Doctor Who as Ruby Sunday, companion to Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor. Gibson's first appearance came in the Christmas 2023 special, The Church On Ruby Road.
