Biography

Greg Austin was born in Bournemouth, Dorset. He became interested in dance during his youth, which led to his involvement in musical theatre; in 2013, he completed a degree in the discipline at the Arts Educational Schools in Chiswick, London. Even before he finished his training, Austin had won a starring role in Mr Selfridge, with his first episodes airing in 2014. The same year, he also appeared in an installment of Law & Order: UK. Following the conclusion of Mr Selfridge in 2016, Austin became one of the leads of the Doctor Who spin-off Class. He played a refugee alien prince whom the Doctor had helped to hide at Coal Hill Academy under the alias “Charlie Smith”. Austin reprised the part for the continuation of Class as a series of audio plays from Big Finish Productions, the first of which was released in 2018. His subsequent credits included Endeavour, Humans and Summer Of Rockets. Austin married Abigail Cole in 2016, but the couple would later separate. During the Twenties, he had a prominent role in Hunters.
